The 163.5 meter yacht (536 feet) Eclipse is the world's largest yacht and at a reported cost of over £700 million, also the most expensive. Delivered in December, 2010, the yacht was constructed by Blohm + Voss from Germany in Hamburg. Mr. Roman Abramovich bought this giant of the sea at a time when most of the world’s working population was reeling under severe financial crisis, and he himself had lost a lot of his wealth in the process. But, it wasn’t a deterrent for him to splurge on super vessel.

A brand new superyacht has been unveiled to the world for the first time ahead of being delivered to its new owner - Formula One mogul Eddie Jordan.

The Sunseeker 155 has been under development for 18 months, and will cost a total of £32million when it is finally completed.

This week it was taken out of the shed in Poole, Dorset where it is being built, as it is now too large to be housed in the hangar.

The Kismet II, a brand new 308-foot megayacht complete with elevator, helipad, and spa is set to launch in September of this year.

The yacht, currently under construction at Lurssen Shipyard in Bremen, Germany, will have a relaxing top speed of 17 knots. She will feature 6 cabins, a crew of 28 and a maximum of 12 guests.

While photographs are not yet available, these official renderings give us a good idea of the kind opulence in store of those who will be fortunate enough to charter her.

Ellison's Luxury Yacht Docked Just Steps From Homeless Camps -- Hawaii News Now

KEWALO BASIN, HAWAII (HawaiiNewsNow) - The luxury yacht owned by billionaire Larry Ellison, the man who purchased most of the island of Lanai last year, has been spending most of its time docked in Honolulu this year.

Since early January, Ellison's 288-foot luxury yacht , with four levels of living space, has been docked at Honolulu Harbor or at Kewalo Basin when Ellison is not on Lanai.

One boating website says is the 41st largest yacht in the world, befitting America's third richest man.

Ellison's crew members were busy cleaning the decks, windows and glass railings of the vessel Friday. It's named the Musashi, after the Japanese samurai warrior.

The boat leaves passers-by in awe.

"Tatoosh," a 303-foot yacht belonging to Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, is no longer for sale after it failed to find a buyer in almost four years on the market, the Daily Mail reports (via JustLuxe).

Allen first listed "Tatoosh" with Fraser Yachts for $160 million back in 2010.

In addition to accommodations for 20 guests and 30 crew members, the superyacht also boasts a cinema, swimming pool, basketball court, recording studio, gym, and two helipads.

* The sailor clambered up the 30-metre mast and plunged into the ocean
* The stunt took expert sailing technique and perfect conditions before it could be achieved

A British daredevil who ran up the 30-metre mast of his boat as it hung above the ocean at a 60-degree angle has described the the incredible stunt as 'the most stupid thing I've ever done'.

Alex Thomson, 37, clambered over ropes and rigging to reach the top in 16 seconds, before calmly putting his sunglasses in his pocket and plunging into the ocean near Cadiz in south-western Spain.

And as if the stunt wasn't impressive enough, the round-the-world yachtsman also did it in a stylish black suit.
