Steven Spielberg Wants A Bigger Yacht



Daily Mail: I'm gonna need a bigger boat! Steven Spielberg is selling his $185million, 282ft mega yacht because it is 'too small'

* Hollywood director Steven Spielberg is having a new boat built for £160m
* Mogul claims that his current £120 million, 282ft megayacht is 'too small'
* Seven Seas boasts infinity pool, movie screen, seven suites and more
* But his new yacht will be just 18ft longer at 300ft for an extra £40million

It's one of the most famous lines in movie history.

And now – 40 years after Roy Scheider exclaimed, ‘We’re gonna need a bigger boat’ in Jaws – it seems the film’s director Steven Spielberg has taken the sentiment very firmly to heart.

The 68-year-old has announced he is selling his £120 million, 282ft megayacht The Seven Seas... because it is too small. Instead, the Hollywood mogul is having a new boat built, for £160 million.

Two Megayachts Severely Damaged By Fire In Marmaris, Turkey

Yacht Harbour: Two superyachts damaged by fire in Marmaris

Reports have started coming that a large fire has broken out in Marmaris, Turkey causing extreme damage to The One and Barbie, two well known yachts. The fire reportedly took four hours to extinguish according to local media sources.

The fire that has allegedly started at 02:00 AM has damaged the 52m M/Y Barbie and the 73m M/Y The One. According to Elliad Hagiladi of Yacht Marine, the fire started on the One before spreading to the Barbie. Other yachts stationed in the harbor have left the harbor to escape the fire. Fire fighters are currently pumping out water to prevent the yachts from sinking. The marina is however working at full capacity.

Will This Powerboat Break The World Record By Sailing From Cornwall To New York On A Single Tank Of Fuel?

A group of British engineers is building a boat capable of crossing the Atlantic Ocean between Cornwall and New York in just 48 hours. The design (illustrated in a CGI image) will make the crossing with an average speed of (105km/h), beating the current two day, ten hour and 54-minute record for the crossing that has been held since 1992

* A group of engineers from Team Great Britain has designed a 112ft (34 metre) wave-piercing powerboat
* Led by Richard George, the team will travel from Cornwall in the UK to New York - a total of 3,100 miles (4,988km)
* The vessel will also attempt the journey on a single tank of fuel and it is hoped the boat will one day be capable of carrying passengers as a high-speed ferry
* The current record for the crossing is two days, ten hours and 54 minutes held by Aga Khan's powerboat Destriero

It is a journey that takes even the speediest cruise liners up to a week, but a group of British engineers is hoping to cross the Atlantic by boat in under two days - on a single tank of fuel.
Led by businessman Richard George, the team is building a boat capable of smashing the world record for the 3,100 mile trip (4,988km), yet said it will also be capable of carrying commercial passengers.
The wave-piercing 112ft (34 metre) powerboat, which will have a seven-man crew, will make the trip between Cornwall and New York at an average speed of 65mph (105km/h) in just 48 hours.

Bugatti and luxury yacht builder Palmer Johnson are building sleek luxury yachts with a mid-range model starting from £2.3million

Wealthy holidaymakers will soon have a new multimillion-pound toy to play with when they get bored of their superyachts or luxury seaside villas.

Bugatti – the French manufacturer behind the world’s fastest production car – has revealed plans for a series of sleek luxury yachts with a mid-range model starting from a staggering €3.25million (£2.3million or $3.5million) each.

Ranging from 42ft to 88ft in size, the vessels will have carbon fibre hulls and the same flair as the company’s classic and modern cars.
